A b2 architects designed house built to passivhaus standards is now on site in Wells.

Passivhaus design standards minimise the need for heating by improving thermal performance, with high levels of insulation and air tightness.  Triple glazed windows and heat recovery ventilation create an internal environment focused on human comfort levels.

The completed house will also incorporate solar thermal water heating and photovoltaic panels to ensure that it is almost entirely self sufficient in energy.
