On 4 August 2014, the repair and conservation works were completed to St John’s Chapel, St Mary Redcliffe Church in Bristol. The works, undertaken by Sally Strachey Historic Conservation comprised cleaning the medieval bosses, redecoration of the walls, the cleaning and conservation of monuments, the introduction of new lighting and the installation of a new altar by furniture maker Robert Coles.
A candle was lit in the chapel at 11pm which will burn for the duration period of the First World War.
