Hardham Priory
Pulborough

The standing ruins of the 13th century Cistercian monastery are Grade I listed and a Scheduled Monument with both the Chapter House and the Kitchen Wing on the ‘at risk’ register prior to our work being undertaken.

This English Heritage grant funded project included the preparation of detailed drawings and a specification and involved working with an archaeologist, ecologist, structural engineer and quantity surveyor. In addition to structural repairs to the masonry, the Purbeck Marble and Clunch were mortar repaired, consolidated and sheltercoated, tile repairs were introduced and trials were undertaken using Calosil to consolidate sections of the decaying and friable Purbeck Marble.
