Info

Dunster Castle Watermill Tea Room and Entrance Barn

We are currently on site extending the Tea Room on behalf of The National Trust. We have also received support from Exmoor National Park Authority and Historic England, together with the information and guidance received from Natural England and the Environment Agency.

The proposals were approved on the grounds they respond well to the local characteristic and scale of the existing buildings, have been carefully designed to mitigate any harm to the adjoining owners and ecology, are appropriate in both scale and form to the existing buildings. The new design seeks to carefully connect both new and existing whilst respecting the immediate environment and neighbours. The project will significantly improve the facilities, welcome all abilities and go some way towards meeting the increased need for additional facilities at this location.

We recently completed the new Reception Lodge at the entrance of the Castle.
