Somerset’s new world class art gallery at Durslade Farm, Bruton opened on 6 July 2014 with an exhibition by Phillida Barlow and a celebration involving the project team and all those involved with the creation of Hauser and Wirth Somerset.

b2 architects have been working alongside an international design team to convert and extend the C18 model farm buildings into a unique visitor experience.  Facilities on site include five exhibition spaces of contrasting proportion and style, a grand courtyard formed between new and old buildings providing an onsite restaurant with a bar designed specifically for Durslade Farm, accommodation for artists in residence, a farm shop, teaching facilities resource including a library and bookshop and a landscaped meadow garden designed by Piet Oudolf.

b2 architects have been working on this project for almost five years and are pleased to see the design concept come to fruition.  We hope that the unique Durslade Farm can be enjoyed by the public and art lovers alike for many years to come.
