St John the Baptist - Yeovil
A large Grade I Listed medieval town church with a tall C15 tower. The church was reordered in 2007 and since then we have completed a range of stone conservation repairs. We were granted consent for a scheme to replace the internal lighting and this, together with the internal re-decoration was completed in 2010. The tower masonry is very friable and continued to cause problems with pieces falling on to the public footpath below. Temporary protection was provided whilst we prepared a feasibility study and cost plan for the extensive masonry conservation required. Grant Aid was obtained from the HLF and a wide range of sensitive conservation repairs were completed in July 2015.
