b2 architects are working alongside Paris based design practice, Laplace & Co to design and build a new gallery in Bruton for Hauser and Wirth.
This project combines the practice’s skills in new build construction with its extensive experience in care and conservation of historic buildings.
Behind the historic buildings two new modern galleries have been designed to fit with the scale of the farm. A new garden is being created behind the complex by the internationally renowned landscape designer, Piet Oudolf.
The completed arts complex will convert the existing model farm buildings to provide galleries, a restaurant, education rooms and offices.
The first phase, the innovatively converted farmhouse for artist’s in residence, has recently been completed and the gallery buildings are due to open in 2014.
